USOS Seaview CONCEPT 2 in 1/150th scale by DeBoer

This model kit is a reimagining of the SeaView by model kit maker DeBoer Hulls out of South Dakota. The main idea was to make the submarine look like something that a futuristic submarine of the 21st century would look like, and I think he's done an amazing job! No detail was spared and the model now looks like a sleek deep-water killing machine!

I'll be putting two of these together eventually, one for a customer who wants an RC model and then another for myself.

Here are some photos of the prototype Concept 2 Seaview, just so you can see how it will look once completed. I will take photos of the actual castings themselves soon and post them up along with my thoughts on quality!

For now, enjoy!

One big, monster update with everything in here!

I should have been more conscientious about updating this page as I went, but I quite honestly forgot about it. Won't happen again!

The model went together with its fair share of challenges, mostly due to the unorthodox propulsion method and the tight confines of the hull. A lot of information can be found in the YouTube video below, but here are a few snippets:

-The forward windows were filled in order to create a more modern shape.
-Pump nozzles and manifolds were 3d printed (many times)
-twin Rule 1100gph bilge pumps for propulsion
-6 channel radio system (only two channels currently utilized)
-magnetic catches for hull attachment, backed up with twin stainless steel machine screws
-full LED lighting
-twin forward facing lasers!
